While many believe that you only need to see a dentist if you are having pain or discomfort, the truth is it is important to have regular exams and cleanings, which contribute to a life of better oral health. Many systemic diseases that affect the entire body may first become noticeable in your mouth because of oral problems such as mouth lesions. Other infections or nutritional deficiencies may be detected as well. That’s why it’s important to see your dentist for regular exams at least twice a year.
Dr. Palmer and our hygienist offer all of our patients preventive services to help maintain your oral health. Comprehensive evaluations and digital x-rays allow us to monitor your oral health and diagnose any dental issues that may arise. Periodontal probing is used to to measure your gum health, and our hygienist will customize routine cleaning plans for each individual patient.
For patients with periodontal disease, an inflammatory disease that destroys the gums, our hygienist will arrange more frequent visits for deeper teeth cleanings. We also offer our patients laser periodontal therapy, which reduces treatment time and discomfort during treatment. Contact our office for more information.
Dr. Palmer welcomes patients of all ages, including children. We encourage parents of our little patients (under the age of 3) to bring them in for a “happy visit” early on so they may get acquainted with Dr. Palmer and the team, learn about the importance of brushing, and earn a prize from our treasure chest!
Dr. Palmer encourages all of his patients to use a Sonicare Toothbrush twice a day, replacing the brushheads every 3-4 months. Watch the video below to maximize the benefits of your Sonicare Toothbrush. Contact us today to purchase your new Sonicare.
